Appointment of new President of the MHRTW
Judge Jane McConnell was appointed President of the MHRTW and took up her role as of the 01/10/2025.
Judge McConnell was previously the Lead Judge for the First Tier Tribunal Special Educational Needs & Disability Tribunal for the past 10 years from June 2015. Most recently she was interim Deputy Chamber President. She remains President of the Education Tribunal Wales a role to which she was appointed in June 2023.
Judge McConnell was called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn in 2006 and was previously Chief Executive of the charity IPSEA. In October 2015 she was awarded an MBE for her services to education.
